Science in Government

The Australian Government's commitment to, and investment in science, research and innovation is delivered through a range of policies and programmes delivered across government departments and publicly funded research agencies.

The Department of Industry, Innovation and Science is responsible for science policy and the broader Industry, Innovation and Science portfolio includes a number of diverse science agencies. It is the primary coordinator of science policy across government portfolios, councils, committees, working groups and engaging with science stakeholder groups and the Australian community on Australia's science priorities, programmes and initiatives.

Science.gov.au will also be the platform for the Australian government to engage with Australians in a discussion about future plans and priorities for science, research, commercialisation and innovation.
